A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed on a busy high street in east London.

The Metropolitan Police were called at roughly 9.15pm on Monday to reports of a stabbing in Leyton High Road.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene and a 16-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.

His condition is not life threatening. 

Police were still carrying out enquiries into the circumstances on Tuesday and a crime scene that was in place has been lifted.
